Use Fearless Tape to Keep Jewelry from Tangling

Sometimes our daily jewelry stack looks more like a knotted bramble than a chic accessory. At the end of the day, there’s also nothing worse than trying to detangle delicate necklace chains. We knew there had to be a better way! After some trial and error, we found the best way to keep our necklaces facing forward and layered chains from tangling: Fearless Tape!

An Easy Hack

If you buy in bulk and have Fearless Tape Dots on hand, they’re perfect for this! If not, no biggie! Just trim or cut Fearless strips down into a size that will fit your pendant, or underneath your necklace clasp.

Four Step How-To

Step 1: Peel the liner from the scored side of the tape

Step 2: Place a tiny piece of tape onto the back of your neck

Step 3: Peel of the remaining liner

Step 4: Stick the back clasp end of the chain to the tape and you’re good to go!

Look Polished All Day

While our example photo only shows one necklace, this is also a great trick for keeping layered necklaces stuck in the right place.

You can do this by applying a small tape tab to the back of your pendants and sticking the clasps to it. This will hold the necklace in place from both the front and back. It’s the perfect trick for special occasions where you don’t want to see the clasp of your necklace slipping around to the front in photos.

Removing Fearless Tape from Leather

Fearless Tape and leather or vegan leather are a match made in heaven! They’re an amazing combo to keep lapels in place, as well as stick down the loose end of a belt. Once you’re ready to take it off though, there’s a trick to it!

The Method to Our Madness

The best way we’ve found to remove Fearless without damaging the leather’s finish is the “roll-off” method.

To start, just use your finger to start pressing on a tape edge. Once the edge starts to come up, begin to gently roll the tape off. This is so much better for the leather than peeling a Fearless strip off and pulling at the leather’s surface.

Protect Your Leather!

This easy and foolproof method will help protect the delicate grain on your leather or faux leather items, while still allowing you to use Fearless Tape on any item in your closet.

Even though this is an awesome trick, make sure to do a patch test on the leather you choose to use our tape on. Make sure to test the tape in a spot that’s not obvious, just in case the leather you own doesn’t react well.

If you’re especially worried about using fashion tape on your leather, try our delicate fabric tape. This tape is perfect for getting a solid hold, while protecting delicate fabrics and finishes.

3 Brilliant Ways to Wear Dapper Dots, According to @DandyintheBronx

Diego León (@dandyinthebronx) shows us his menswear hacks using Dapper Dots in this quick post. It’s easy to feel intimidated once you factor in how difficult keeping a dapper look together can be. Diego’s style is based on flawless tailoring, perfectly chosen accessories, and impeccable styling. It’s a lot to live up to!

Behind the scenes, this look is a lot more achievable than it seems. Here are Diego’s top 3 tips and once you’ve read them, you’ll wonder why you haven’t tried a sharp look like this before.

Idea #1: Hold Shirt Collars Down

Does your favorite shirt collar always look like it’s about to fly away? Maybe it needs to be ironed, but you’re running late. No worries! Just throw on a jacket or vest and grab your Dapper Dots. Apply a dot under each collar point and gently press it against the collar band of your shirt. It’s a super fast way to look like you woke up prepared to tackle the day.

Idea #2: Hold Pocket Squares Up

With any simple outfit, accessories are so important! With a suit, pocket squares can be so much fun and add a whole new level of personality. Sometimes the material that they’re made with is too soft and isn’t ideal for staying perfectly positioned.

For an easy fix, fold your pocket square and tuck it into your jacket’s breast pocket. Add a Dapper Dot to the back of your pocket square and press it firmly against your suit jacket. Now it’s prepped to stay in place all day.

Idea #3: Don’t be a Fabio (Create Hidden Buttons)

Sometimes, you’d like to wear a slightly unbuttoned top without looking like you belong on the cover of a romance novel. Usually, buttons are placed just slightly too far apart with one button that’s too high, and one that’s dangerously low. An easy fix for this is to apply a Dapper Dot right between two buttons, and stick the sides of your shirt together. This gives you a lived-in and easy vibe, without revealing your whole chest. The holidays are such an exciting time of year! The snow flurries and cute winter clothes make our hearts flutter. Dressing up for parties, seeing family and friends, and dancing the cold nights away for sure make this season the most magical time of year. Sometimes the hardest part of the winter season can be keeping your wardrobe under control through all of these fun get-togethers, especially if there are adult beverages around. Here are some Fearless Tape hacks that will help keep your wardrobe under control through the season.

Our Favorite Tips 

1. Keep Straps in Place - One of the most sure-fire ways to be annoyed and uncomfortable all night is not having your bra or sleeves under control and placed right where you meant them to be. If you’re wearing something strappy, put a piece of tape underneath the strap at the top of the shoulder and stick it to your skin. This little tip will keep your straps up all night and you won’t have to worry about the dreaded feeling of them sliding down your arms.

2. Hold Strapless Dresses Up - Strapless dresses and tops can be a look, but only if you’re not tugging them up all night. If you’re going strapless, once you have your dress on, place 2-4 strips of tape around the top of your bra and/or dress and stick it to your skin. This will keep your top from sliding down. Nobody wants to be the awkward one pulling at their dress all night. Find more details about this hack here.

3. Stop Jewelry from Sliding - As much as we love big jewelry and scarves, they can be hard to keep in place as we roam, mingle, dance, and lean over treat tables. To keep them close to your bod and out of your way, place a tape dot or ½ of a strip underneath the piece and stick it right where you want it to lay. Then, you can forget about it for the rest of the party and focus on looking cute.

4. Keep Shoes on your Feet - It can be rough to keep your heels on all night, especially if they’re flapping around and not staying on your feet. To keep them secure, use two strips of tape per shoe. Place the two pieces next to each other where your heel will meet the shoe. Leave a small piece of the liner on the side that you stick to your shoe so you can remove the tape easier at the end of the night. This will keep your heels stuck to your feet all night.

5. Bring Extra - Don’t forget to bring some extra tape with you. The packaging is super thin, so it’ll take up hardly any space in your bag or pocket. You never know what’ll happen through the night, so be prepared! Your friends and family will thank you when you save them from fashion mishaps too.

Last Minute, DIY, Kid's Costume: Wonder Woman

We have one more last minute Halloween costume for you. This is our favorite girl power superheroine, Wonder Woman! We love this costume because it’s fast and comes together with things that are already in your daughter’s closet.

What You’ll Need:

• White Tee

• Blue Jeans

• Scissors

• Fearless Tape Strips

• Gold Glitter and Red Foam Sheets

• Paper & Marker (Used to Make a Pattern)

First off, we need to cut out the paper templates for the stars and the signature “W”. Download the template here.

Once you’ve got the page printed out, trace the patterns onto the back of the foam and cut them out. Then fold the foam around your daughter’s wrist and loosely measure how much foam you’ll need. Once you’ve got the amount, cut 2 rectangles to make her magic Bracelets of Victory. Add one star to the middle of each bracelet using a Fearless Tape Dot.

Now onto the tiara. This is the coolest tiara ever because not only is it cute, but Wonder Woman can use it as a boomerang! To make it, cut out a wide half diamond shape that fits securely around your child’s head. Next, use a Fearless Tape Dot to stick one star onto the middle of the tiara.

For the final step, use 2 Fearless Tape strips and one Fearless Tape Dot to stick the “W” onto the middle of the white tee shirt and fit the tiara and bracelets to your daughter and use several Fearless Tape Strips to secure them in place.

Now your daughter is ready to be the warrior princess we all know and love.

The Cutest Kids Halloween Costumes

Halloween is coming up fast and if you’re anything like us, you forgot! As you’re trying to put together last minute costumes for your kids, let us give you some costume inspiration. We’re going to show you our favorite, easy costumes that will have your little monsters ready for trick-or-treating.

Beautiful Butterfly

For our first costume, we’re going to transform your little bug into a beautiful butterfly! You’ll only need a few things for this easy costume.

Gather Up:

• Two Pieces of Fabric (or Pre-Made Wings)

• Black Long Sleeve Tee Shirt

• Black Leggings

• 2 Black Foam Sheets

• Black Headband

• Fearless Tape Strips [link to Fearless Tape Strips]

Have your kiddo put the shirt and leggings on, then apply the Fearless Tape strips to the tee shirt. We like to apply them right where the shoulder blades sit. This makes the wings stick out just enough to make the fabric flutter when their trick-or treating group are running from house to house. Next, cut out swirls for the antennae. Attach these two pieces to the top of the headband using a Fearless strip, and the metamorphosis is complete!

Wild Woodland Nymph

Next up is the most magical (and customizable) creature in the forest! Our Woodland Nymph costume is really great for moms who aren’t the greatest at sewing. This is a completely no-sew ensemble. It’s easy to customize into a forest nymph or a water sprite, depending on what colors you go with. This could also easily be combined with our butterfly costume for a fool-proof fairy costume.

What You’ll Need:

• Leotard (in whatever color you’d like) 

• Fabric Scraps (in colors that match the leotard) 

• Tights

• Twine

• Silk Greenery

• Fearless Tape Combo Pack

Start with your child in the leotard, then begin putting Fearless Dots around their waist (about 1-2 inches apart). Next, attach the fabric scraps by gathering the fabric into an uneven point and stick it to the Fearless Dot. Repeat this step until all of the dots are covered and the skirt is full. Next, wrap the twine like a belt over the tops of the fabric. Weave the greenery through their hair and your magical creature is ready to prance and dance all Halloween night!

Tailor Pre-Made Costumes

This is the easiest option from this post because it’s more of a hack than creating a full costume. All you’ll need is a pre-made costume and Fearless Dots. Use the dots to help tailor costumes to your kiddos.

We used a ninja costume and made the mask that came with it a custom fit! When we first opened the costume, the mouth cover didn’t line up quite right and ended up looking like a medical mask! We just applied a dot of Fearless and stuck the mask in place where it was supposed to meet the hood. It made a perfect fix and the costume looked so much better!

Fashion Hack: Keeping Up Your No-Show Socks

With all of the cute new fall and winter boots coming into season, we’re starting to lovingly put away our sandals and reach for our socks. We love wearing no-show socks, but there’s always that one pair that will not stay up, no matter how much strategic adjusting we try.

It doesn’t seem to matter if they have a silicone piece on the heel or an extra tight band, sometimes nothing seems to help. This is especially true with certain types of shoes that seem to help pull your socks off. Booties and boots with interesting designs and cut-outs seem to be especially terrible at keeping no-show socks in place. This is extra frustrating when rather than sliding off of your foot, the sock seems to get bigger and somehow manages to peek out of the top of your shoe (How does that even happen?!).

So, as it’s started to cool off we’ve realized that Fearless Fashion Tape is the perfect solution to all of these problems! Here’s all you have to do to keep your pesky socks in place all day. For this hack, you’ll need either two tape dots or one tape strip that’s been torn or cut in half.

How to use Fearless Tape to hold up your no-show socks:

1. Put on your no-show socks to see how high they sit on your ankle.

2. Fold down your sock and place the tape on your ankle, just under where the sock sits.

3. Put your sock back on and rub the sock to stick it to the tape.

4. Slip on your shoes and have an awesome day without your socks bunched under the arch of your foot! 

Depending on the booties you’re wearing, your ‘no-show’ socks might still peak out. You can also use Fearless tape to keep your socks hidden. Just use the tape to stick your sock straight onto the inside of the bootie where you want it to sit.

With this neat little hack, you won’t need to worry about your socks messing up your flawless look.

Have you ever purchased the most perfect top (or dress), you love it so much you can hardly even stand it, but then you never end up wearing it because the dang thing doesn’t stay put? That has happened to me several times and it’s legit the most annoying thing ever. So if this happens to you too, I have the answer to your problems– Fearless Tape. TRICKS OF AN INFLUENCER WITH DAPPER DOTS

Being a lifestyle blogger, I’m always trying to stay on my A game. Whether I’m out trying to shoot for the blog, taking wifey out for a drink, or just running around with the family I always want my look to be photoshoot ready! 🙂 So, I’m always down to try new products that are going to help the outfit details stand out, or not stand out and help me when I’m on the fly.

I can’t believe it has taken me so long to find out about Dapper Dots. Dapper Dots are a small double-sided tape in the shape of a small circle about the size of a dime, that come perfectly packaged in a small easy open & shut tin. These dots are strong enough for just about everything clothing related. Lose a button? Neck tie keep flopping around? Collar keep popping’ up? And the most hated of them all…have a floppy belt? No problem…Dapper Dots got you! All you have to do is grab one of the sheets from the pocket-sized tin, peel off one of the dots, remove the easy-to-remove backing and press the two pieces of clothing together and you are good to go!

When wifey and I went out shooting I ended up using Dapper Dots on my watch strap to keep it from sticking out. I can’t stand it when watch straps (just like belts) don’t stay tight to each other. I also used it to help show off a little chest and my new tattoo while trying to get the perfect collar crease to the top of my shirt. In the day of Instagram, these are perfect for guys and gals like me that are trying to get the perfect shot, with all the perfect details, when out and about. I can think of multiple occasions where I had to shoot a product that needed a little finessing before being shot, so my wife had to unfortunately photoshop out the safety pins and clips we had to use. How did I not know about these?! Seriously perfect for my lifestyle!

I can already think of more instances I’ll be needing my Dapper Dots for…like when I wear baseball caps that have that extra strap hanging in the back of the hat! Homecoming Dress Hacks with Fearless Tape

It’s that time of year again. School’s in full swing and with it comes Homecoming. If there’s ever a time when it’s important to feel totally confident in how you look, it’s high school dances. There’s so much pressure in high school, trying to figure out who you are, and fit in just enough while still being yourself. Dances are such a fun time to dress up and have fun with your friends. But they can be a little nerve wracking. The last thing you want to worry about when you’re wearing a pretty dress is that your bra is showing or the details are out of place. Especially if you’re with someone you wish was more than a friend ;). If only we had Fearless Tape in high school, our dances would have been so much easier and more carefree. Luckily, we’re here now and can help this generation look even more flawless than they already do!

We got to follow these cute ladies as they got ready for their dance. Doesn’t this kind of make you wish you could go back in time just for one night? Picking out the dress, getting ready with friends, it’s such a fun time!

Let’s be real, the main reason get ready together with our friends (besides to calm nerves) is because it’s HARD to perfect these looks ourselves. One of the main issues we see with formal dresses is that bras are are simply not made for them. This dress didn’t look like it would have a problem, but her bra was showing in the cutout on the back.

Fearless Tape is the perfect solution.

We added a couple of strips to her bra and stuck the dress in place.

Such an easy fix! And SO worth it to have the comfort of knowing your look is put together all night.

This next issue is so common with shirts and dresses, but so easy to fix. The band at the waist of this dress was curled. We added a couple strips of Fearless Tape to keep it in place and there were no issues! It looks so much more polished and put together when the band lays nicely at the waist.

This is a perfect example of something that might not seem like a big deal until you get the pictures back. How many times do you get ready for something and notice something that’s a little off but assume it won’t be a big deal… then you get the pictures back. Quick and Easy Pant Hem

The rolled hem look is everywhere right now and it’s easy to do, but it’s not so easy to keep in place all day. If it seems like every time you sit down you have to readjust your hem, this hack is for you. Fearless Tape helps you keep that rolled hem looking perfect all day, no matter what you’re doing. All you’ve gotta do is add a strip of Fearless Tape to your hem before the last roll.

Stick it in place and you’re golden all day. Doesn’t get much easier than that, does it?

This also works for those times you put on your favorite shoes and realize that your pant hem isn’t falling in just the right place. You know what we mean… those times you put on flats with pants you generally wear high heels with and you can’t even walk. Back to School Hacks: The Perfect Collar

We’re through the first week of school here. Have your kids started or are you still in your last few summer days? Either way, we’ve got more hacks to keep your school year running smoothly. If you didn’t see our hack for keeping rolled up sleeves in place, make sure you check it out on our blog. Today we’re talking about collars.

It’s amazing how much of a difference a well placed collar can make. Collars like to twist or curl, making outfits look much less put together. But with just a couple pieces of Fearless Tape, your kids collars will stay in place all day. This is especially handy for picture day. When your kids go to school looking perfect and then hit recess and their entire look seems to fall apart. While that makes for memorable photos, we’re in the business of making photos your kids will love now. The best part about this hack is that it takes basically no time so you can get it done even if you’re running out of the door.

First, place a piece of Fearless Tape on the bottom of the collar, near the point.

Peel off the liner.

Then stick the collar in place.

Is that collar perfection or what?!

No matter what happens throughout the day, your kids can know their outfit will stay in place. And let’s be real, it’s much more comfortable for us momma bears to see our kits looking put together. Back to School Clothing Hacks for Kids: Rolled Sleeves

It’s that time of year! The little ones are back in school. How did summer pass so quickly? Maybe you’re a mom that was SO ready for your kids to go back to school. Maybe you’re a mom that cried as the school bus drove away or you watched your kids walk into the school while you took millions of pictures to look at while they’re gone all day. Maybe you’re a mix of both. No matter what type of mom you are, how old your kids are, or where they go to school, we all deal with one common back to school item - clothing. Whether or not your kids wear a uniform, they most likely want to look their best when they’re off to see their friends at school. For our kids it’s especially important that they have a little help keeping their outfits in place. We all know they’re not great at staying still. Anything we can do to be sure they don’t have to mess with their clothes throughout the day can help to keep them happy and carefree while at school.

Now that we’re such mature and wise parents (haha!) we know that our outward appearance is definitely not what it’s all about. Hopefully our kids are learning that what they look like is far less important than who they are. However, I think we can all agree that when we feel comfortable and confident in our outfit for the day, it helps with our overall mood. The way we present ourselves to the world is still important for the way we view ourselves and how confidently we walk into a room.

This week we’ll be showing you some clothing hacks that will make the school year easier for both you and your littles. Today we’re looking at rolled up sleeves. If you’ve ever tried to wear your sleeves rolled up you know how annoying it can be when they continue to fall down. Giving your kids this simple tool to keep their rolled sleeves in place can change everything.

First, roll the sleeves to right where you want them to sit.

Pull back the rolled sleeve and place a Fearless Tape dot on the arm of the shirt.

Peel back the liner.

Roll the sleeve back into place.

And voila! You’re done. Here’s to a more comfortable, confident school day.

Special Occassion Clothing Hacks

At Fearless Tape we’re all about perfecting your everyday wardrobe. But some days are special and we’re definitely there for you on those days as well. This couple wanted to do a special photo session for their anniversary. This dress was so perfect for the look they were going for, but it’s one of those dresses that makes it a little difficult to figure out a bra. Fearless Tape was basically made for dresses like this. Just throw on a strapless bra (Fearless Tape can hold it up - bonus!) and make it invisible with Fearless Tape.

Fearless Tape strips are three inches so they’re really convenient for fixes like this. It only took two strips to hold up the entire back of the dress. Taping the back up actually made it fall much prettier in our opinion so it worked out perfectly.

The front of the dress was a little low as well. This is definitely a personal preference. But, especially when you’re taking pictures your family will see, it’s often much more comfortable to be a little more covered. This is so nice when you’re just not quite sure if you’re showing a little too much and want to be sure you don’t have any slip ups during the day. We added strips to the neck line and place it high enough that she felt comfortable throughout the whole shoot.

Last up, the slit. Sometimes you get the perfect dress, put it on, and realize the slit is much higher than you’re comfortable with. Have you been there? Don’t let it ruin a dress for you! No need to sew it or wear another layer. Just add strips of Fearless Tape until it’s low enough that you feel comfortable.

For this dress we actually put the Fearless Tape directly onto her skin where the slit would be and attached the dress to her skin.

And how beautiful did these pictures turn out?! We’re a little obsessed with this session. A beautiful couple, a beautiful place, and they look so classy!

Temporary Curtains with Fearless Tape

Our amazing photographer, Michele, of SandL Studios is so talented as you can tell by our site! She also loves using Fearless Tape in her daily life as well as in her photoshoots. She always has it on hand during her photography sessions because, as you know, something always has to go wrong.

During a photo session last month, Michele wanted a temporary curtain put up. She pulled out her Fearless Tape dots and got it up in minutes.

Such a pretty backdrop and perfect light filter! And it took barely any time. Fearless Tape is seriously a life saver.

We love keeping it in our purses, diaper bags, photography bags, cars, and anywhere else we can think of to be sure it’s on hand for times like this.
